IT’S A SMALL
WORLD”
MOAA OF BC
CONFERENCE 2009
Hosted by
Surrey, Chapter 12
Please make your plans to join us April 24, 25 and 26, 2009
as we celebrate the 38th Annual Conference of the MOAA of BC at the River Rock Hotel and Casino in Richmond, BC.
The River Rock is an ‘all suite’ hotel so the rooms are 2 bedroom (sofa bed in the living room area) and very spacious. Lots of room for sharing! The pools include an indoor water slide so be sure to bring your swimsuit.
The hotel also offers free shuttle to the airport and the local shopping areas.
EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
The scales of the world are unbalanced. While many live with more than they need others fight to survive on an unthinkable amount of nothing. Project Hands is a group of people who want to do their part in rebalancing these scales.
Our speakers include Dr. Gerald Doersam, OB/GYN who will share his experiences in Guatemala with the surgical team from Project Hands.
* * *
Are you or one of your patients planning to travel abroad? Do you know which vaccines are required or recommended? When is protection needed against Malaria? Do you know how to protect yourself from food and water borne diseases?
Dr. Sarah Thrasher, Medical Director of Travel Medicine and Vaccination Centre will make sure you have all the answers!
* * *
Are differences between you and your co-workers having an effect on your work world?
Angela Wolff, MSN, RN, PhD will discuss how the influence of changing demographics (age, education, work ethics and cultural diversity) affects those who work in a medical environment.
